From high-altitude mining operations to search-and-rescue missions, emergency response, and transport to hard-to-reach areas, Peru's geography presents unique challenges for air connectivity. This reality is driving increased demand for aircraft capable of operating safely and efficiently in complex conditions.

Currently, this demand is concentrated primarily in two strategic sectors: mining, and defense and the public sector. In the mining industry, helicopters enable the transport of executive personnel, technical equipment, and light cargo to operations and camps located in complex, high-altitude terrain. In the public sector, there is a need to renew and strengthen capabilities for emergency response, search and rescue (SAR), and civil defense in the face of extreme weather events.

This trend also reflects a shift in how organizations understand specialized air transport. Large corporations are moving away from viewing aviation solely as an executive service and are instead incorporating it as a tool for productivity, safety, and operational continuity—particularly when it comes to connecting remote operations centers.

In response to these needs, Textron Inc. strengthened its presence in the Peruvian market by naming Aviasur as Bell's official sales representative in the country. This addition expands the range of aeronautical solutions available to private operators, corporations, and government entities, bringing together the Textron Aviation and Bell portfolios under a single commercial representation.

Demand Trending Toward Higher-Capacity Aircraft

Looking ahead, the company sees a trend toward the optimization and modernization of executive mining transport and utility transport. Demand is projected to grow for light and medium helicopters, including twin-engine aircraft offering greater range and more spacious cabins to meet different mission types.

The available portfolio includes aircraft designed to operate in demanding altitude and temperature conditions—a feature especially relevant to Peru's geography. These include the Bell 407GXi and the Subaru Bell 412EPX, built for high-altitude, high-heat operations, as well as the Bell 429, a light twin-engine helicopter for missions requiring greater range and cabin capacity.

Looking further ahead, the company also sees opportunities to incorporate new technologies aimed at improving efficiency and flight capabilities, including those featured in the Bell 525, which is currently undergoing global certification.

Local Representation and Access to Specialized Financing

Bell's official representation will also give Peruvian customers access to a direct commercial link with the factory and centralized support within the country.

Through Aviasur's local team, operators will be able to receive guidance on configuring aircraft according to the specific requirements of each mission, as well as support with fleet availability and the sales process.

"A high-altitude mining operation has different needs than a search-and-rescue or emergency response mission. Having a local presence allows us to understand each client's operational reality and serve as a direct bridge to the factory in determining the most suitable configuration," said Djordje Velickovich, Sales Manager at Aviasur.

In addition, operators will have access to financing solutions through Textron Financial Corporation (TFC). With an asset-based approach, both commercial and private operators will be able to access direct financing options for aircraft acquisition, preserving their local bank credit lines for their core business needs.

Aviasur's operational support in the country also includes its Fixed Base Operation (FBO) at Pisco International Airport, opened in 2019, which provides services for executive aviation and specialized operations.

With the addition of Bell, Aviasur consolidates its representation of Textron's leading aeronautical brands in Peru, in a market where specialized air connectivity is playing an increasingly important role in the productivity of strategic industries and in response capacity for emergencies and critical operations.
